Forgive my hiatus. At least now I'm back! (:
Where do I start? Right, I'm updating because
Ching,
Juin, and
Rae said I should. (and secretly, I want to)
So I've been
MIA for about a month and trust me, loads of things happened.
First things first,
Copeland's concert! Maybe it should be called a gig instead because the crowd really wasn't that big. So I went for the gig with Jen and Stan, and they had to wait for me for a long while. (haha. sorry bros)
We waited for so long. If I'm not mistaken, it was supposed to start at 3 and I arrived around 3.30, i think. and we waited till 4 something and they still weren't done yet. It was in the Bentley auditorium and we could hear the opening acts jamming and whatnot.
So yes, we couldn't take it anymore and decided to feed our stomachs instead and so we walked over to Ikea. We had hotdogs and ice-cream. yumm (:
we went back to Bentley's and the crowd was only starting to get in the auditorium. gosh. that was around 5?
Yeah. The opening acts were local bands. Some good, some not so good. OH yeah! halfway through the opening acts,
we sneaked downstairs to the press conference! That was the first time I saw their faces. I mean, like seriously registered their faces in. haha. We went back upstairs and finally, the moment we have been waiting for : Copeland's turn. It was so good.
They were AMAZING. no joke. They were phenomenal. It was breathtaking. I really couldn't believe that I was watching them live. That a band so great yet not too known would actually be there before my eyes. They're just so freaking talented and it just makes my heart break to think that that gig was part of their
Farewell Tour (they're disbanded now). Went home so late but I got them to sign a poster
:D
Small concert, small crowd, amazing band, brilliant music. And there you go, the best thing on earth. I felt as if my life was complete! Words could barely describe how I felt but that was the best 2 hours of my life.
I'll tell you something extra : the concert ticket was a birthday gift from Stan and Jen. Awesome, no? ;)
So that was the 9th of May, I think.
Next up : The downfall of yours truly! (11th of May)
It all happened during Commerce class, in the lecture theatre. I knocked into one of the chairs and that was how it all started. To put it simply, I fell. The funny part would be the way I fell, or the process of it, from the moment I knocked the chair until the moment my knee hit the ground. Seriously, you could ask anyone in the lecture theatre, the way I fell was hilarious. Let's just call it "The Fall"
* for now, okay?
*"The Fall" refers to the way I fell.
Yeah, so practically the whole form heard about "The Fall" even before I did. All i knew/remembered was knocking into the chair and my knee hitting the ground. The rest was a blur. Maybe it was the hit in the head that made it all a blur. I even needed Gwen and Ben to reenact the whole thing for me! Hilarious. As Maxine and Sylvia put it : "You fell like a pinball!"
The bright side of the whole thing was : I'm not actually taking Commerce class so I didn't miss anything that day. haha.
So what's the big deal about this whole
"fall"? Well, for starters, I tore the ligament of my left knee. I had to use crutches, and an ultra fat knee brace(am still using it). and it hurts like crap, though not so much now. I can't walk fast, I can't walk the stairs like a normal person (not yet. soon, baby, soon), etc etc. Sucks to be me.
Seriously, how would you like having your knee feeling 'loose'?
The first week was hell. It was beyond painful. It was a killer pain! My knee was so swollen, it was depressing.
Actually, I think I was close to tearing,
if not already torn, my ligament few years back. 2 years back during a basketball game. I just landed and kind of twisted my knee. At least it felt like it. but that wasn't as bad as this. I mean, I went back to walking normally after a few days! occasionally I'd still get that little shift in the joints but nothing really bad. But this time round, it was so bad I couldn't even put any weight on it at first.
( I hopped, jumped, and dragged my way down to the sickbay. Lol)
But anyhow, thank you to everyone who helped me that day! From calling my parents, to comforting me, to getting my stuff and everything else,
Thanks (:
After that incident, there was the exams. Sucks. There's no need for any further elaboration on that. It was a nightmare.
There! A relatively long post! It should be enough to make up for the long absence (:
